What Is The Most Important Step To Becoming A Successful Reseller?

    Over the last several months I have noticed reseller programs growing in large volumes. The concept is absolutely wonderful. You promote somebody else's product and they pay you for each sale that you have referred. There is money to be made with reseller programs and given the right program and the right company to work with, you can make a very decent income doing nothing other than referring products that others have created. 
    You may not get rich but at the same time with the right program you may be able to take your kids to the local amusement park for the day or use the money you receive to advertise your own business. 
    So what is the most important step to becoming a successful reseller? 
The most important step is to buy the product yourself. It is true that not all of the reseller programs available today require you to purchase their product before you become a reseller but how successful can you be if you don't "know" the product? 
    Let me ask you a question. If a family member or friend was looking to purchase an item and she called you to ask you your opinion would you tell her to buy something that you yourself had never tried or would you recommend a product that you yourself had purchased and knew was worth the money? 
    This brings me to my point. If you don't know the product how can you recommend it? Whether it is a book or a program if you yourself have not tried it how are you going to answer questions from prospective purchasers on the quality of it? How are you going to tell them it is a GREAT product if you yourself have never tried it? 
    I have had this happen to me on several occasions. I get an email telling me how I NEED this product. It is going to make a DIFFERENCE in my business or in my personal life. When I send a reply asking questions regarding the product, I either get no reply or they send me another email telling me that it WILL make a difference but they can't explain to me HOW it will make the difference. Why? Because they themselves don't "know" the product because they have never bought the product themselves. 
    Let's assume you came to me and said "WHY is this product so good and WHY should I buy it?" If I hadn't bought the product I could use the same sales pitch as the product page. Would that be honest? Would I be convincing enough to get you to buy? How can I honestly answer a question about it when I don't honestly know? However, if I had purchased the product I could tell you WHY the product is so good and WHY you should buy it. I can also tell you HOW it will benefit you. 
    Another aspect of this is YOUR reputation. As an example let's say that you have a website. On your website are several different reseller programs that you are promoting. You've never bought the programs/books that you are reselling. One of your customers comes to your site and they see you are promoting these different items and they buy one because YOU put it on your site and said it was GREAT. 
    Your customer then purchases the product/program and it isn't worth a quarter of the price they paid for it. They are extremely disappointed. WHO do you think they are going to remember? You or the Company they bought it from? Chances are they are going to return the product (if possible), get a refund and NEVER trust YOU again. After all if you were in the same situation who would YOU blame? 
    Resellers that purchased his book sold an average of 12.8% more books than the average reseller who signs up without buying the book. Once again "knowing" the product helps you sell and in this case it makes a BIG difference! 
    You CAN increase your earnings by knowing the products you are reselling and the only way to "know" it is to buy it.
